Summer Break Is Here! Teens, here are productive ways to occupy yourself πŸ’ͺ

What to do instead of waking up at 12 p.m. and sitting on your phone all day…

Teens, there are so many ways to have a fun and productive summer (and not waste your time). Below are some suggestions for activities you can do this summer.

Work/Study Related

  • Volunteer opportunities (animal shelter, homeless shelter, food drive, ocean cleanups). Volunteering can be a great way to occupy yourself and is also required of most high school students. Additionally, multiple colleges and universities look for a student who is involved in their community.
  • Take an online course: Staying productive and learning throughout summer can help eliminate some course requirements and help keep your brain fresh (#notalazysummer).
  • Study a new language. Also impressive to colleges and workplaces, this is a smart choice to make this summer.
  • Summer Camp Counseling: If you want to earn money, becoming a summer camp counselor is an option! This is also an amazing opportunity to gain work experience.
  • Internship. Interning is a great idea for those who want to explore a potential field of work.

A variety of FUN stuff

  • Go to the beach! πŸ–οΈ
  • Host a bonfire and bring lots of drinks and snacks. πŸ”₯
  • Go bowling 🎳
  • Visit museums, whether for art, science, history, or anything else that interests you! πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ¨
  • Make your own tie-die shirt!
  • Make s’mores, (with your friends and family, of course), and maybe add stargazing to that too. 🍫
  • Go fruit picking in a summery outfit πŸ“
  • Make homemade ice cream 🍦
  • Movie nights with friends; at the theater or at-home! πŸŽ₯
  • Pool party: Buy pool games such as volleyball, badminton, and even extra floats for more fun.
  • Or rather… play pool 🎱
  • Go camping! Or if you’re fancy, glamping. β›Ί
  • Travel!! (day trips, road trips, plane trips, cruises) ✈️
  • Watch fireworks 🧨
  • Go to a concert and sing your heart out! (Bonus points if you love the singer, because not every artist is going on tour this year). 🎀
  • Go to a carnival or amusement park 🎠
  • Try a new craft; This can become your new creative outlet! Try things like painting, wood shop, and pottery. πŸͺ΅πŸͺ“
  • Visit a local or national park 🌳
  • Go hiking!
  • Or just do a normal workout πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ
  • Create a new TBR (to-be-read) list and start checking books off! πŸ“–

I hope you found something on this list you’d like to try, and hopefully it keeps you busy. πŸ˜†

Ciao friends, I’ll see you in my next post. 🀍
