Welcome to day 3 of Christmas Chronicles! Today it was freezing outside, but nonetheless, I went to get açaí bowls with my friend after school.
I’ve been loving Publix açaí bowls, as they aren’t overpriced like other açaí shops, and they’re delicious. We headed there after school to destress because God knows this year has been stressful! The only thing one can do is find balance and do things for themselves to manage it.
It’s been quite difficult to find a balance between work and fun recently, because every moment I take to myself feels unproductive. It’s challenging to not feel like I’m lazy when I take a break, and I know many people relate to this. I listened to a podcast episode a few days ago about how laziness doesn’t really exist, and that people need to beat the fear of laziness. Although I believe that laziness is real, I think some humans tend to be harsh on themselves for resting. However, instead of not resting, it’s more productive to recognize patterns in your productivity, as it may vary based on time and environment. If you come home from school at 3 p.m. and you know that you need time to unwind before getting back into the “work zone,” take that time. I work best early in the morning and in the evenings, and as such, when I get home from school I don’t begin work right away unless it’s necessary. This gives me time to take a nap, shower, and do whatever I need to do before sitting down again for another couple of hours.
Açaí bowls!
Not only do these bowls look scrumptious, they taste incredible. I was pleasantly surprised with them, because they tasted better than those from popular açaí bowl company that I usually buy my bowls from. Very unexpected! I got a bowl with Nutella, peanut butter, granola, strawberries, mangoes, and blueberries.
This outing was a last minute idea, but when your body screams at you to go out with friends on a school evening, you need to listen (sometimes). It was much needed for clearing my head. Don’t forget to treat yourself too, especially during stressful times!
Lastly, thank you all for your patience with me as my posting schedule has been quite inconsistent in the past few months. I try my best to deliver content quickly! Have a great weekend and I’ll visit you all from an orange grove next! 🙊🍊
Stay positive, Nicole. 💛
