Many people struggle with chasing their dreams because they are too afraid of them. Or they simply don’t take the steps to make their goals a reality.

Personally, one method I’ve used to make my goals appear more attainable and train my subconscious to tackles obstacles is manifestation.

According to dictionary.com, manifesting is “to attempt to attain (something desired) by thinking or focusing intensely on it.”

Manifestation includes a variety of practices such as visualization and gratitude, which help you attract your desires. Celebrities such as Jim Carrey and Tom Holland have manifested things knowingly and unknowingly. Carrey has stated that he wrote himself a check for $10 million in the early ’90s and dated it Thanksgiving 1995. Just before Thanksgiving, in ’95, Carrey found out that he was going to make that exact amount for his role in “Dumb and Dumber.”

Though manifestation has worked for many, some people do not believe it works or exists because it hasn’t been scientifically proven. Reminder: you are entitled to your own beliefs just as others (such as me) are entitled to theirs.

Methods of Manifestation

  1. Visualization/Vision Board

A vision board is a visual representation of your goals. This can be made by printing images of your desires (ex: a photo of a nice car, a wedding ring, a dream school, etc.) and gluing them onto a poster board. Visualizing what you want in life is just one step forward in your road to success.

2. Gratitude

If you aren’t satisfied with what you already have, you will not easily achieve more. Practicing gratitude allows you to be open to new opportunities and be humble. Manifestation shouldn’t be rooted in greed. In 1770, Irish statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke wrote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” From this, the statement, “Good things happen to good people,” came about. If you are grateful for what you already have, more great things will come your way.

3. Affirmation

Affirmation is the declaration of something you believe will happen (or that you want to happen). You should repeat to yourself over and over that your goal will be reached. Ex: “I will be accepted into New York University.” “I am excited to own a house in the Maldives.” The more you repeat that what you want is yours, the more likely you are to attain it.

4. Role Play

This step is absolutely crucial. If you want fruitful results, you need to become the person you dream of becoming. You need to imagine that you are already where you want to be. You cannot sit and wait for things to happen to you instead of making things happen for yourself.

5. Positivity

Having the right mindset is significant to your success. There is a great amount of power in belief. If you look at your vision board and see something as “out of reach”, you will never achieve it. If you are scared of your goals, you will subconsciously hold yourself back from reaching them.

Make sure to know that anything is possible and that you CAN create your desired reality.

Conclusion

Manifestation trains your subconscious to switch your mentality to one that is positive, and makes you desire your goals more. It motivates you and inspires you to tackle challenges head on in order to achieve what you want.

Wishing you all the luck in your journey to success. 🙂

  1. This is so nice. Manifestation isn’t spiritual. It is the process of believing in what you want and changing your mindset. 👍
